Job Summary:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of Red & Yellow’s ADMAC Flagship programme by shaping and supporting the learning journeys of our students. The position involves overseeing the delivery of the programme curriculum and the implementation of effective learning and teaching strategies across both contact and distance modes, ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and compliance with CHE guidelines. You will be responsible for managing lecturers, independent contractors and teaching assistants on the programme, overseeing programme-specific costs, and ensuring operational and academic excellence. The role is supported by a team of Programme Administrators, the Manager of the School of Marketing, and the Manager of Regulatory and Student Affairs, providing a collaborative environment in which to drive student success.
This is a Cape Town Position. Applicants must be living in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
This position will require, but is not limited, to the following activities:
- Ensure that the programme curriculum and quality is maintained throughout delivery and work alongside the programme development team when programme is due for re-accreditation
- Ensure that ongoing training and audits are conducted in the program to understand the quality of teaching across the programme formats (distance and contact modes)
- Oversee the implementation of the curriculum and associated learning activities
- Manage the lecturers, TA’s and independent contractors teaching on the programme (incl. performance monitoring and advising on development), including checking timesheets, managing workloads, and conducting and organising peer reviews; ensuring that timesheets and invoices are duly submitted on time to the Manager: School of Marketing
- Ensure that service quality is maintained and improved through crafting service quality performance checks for the TA’s and Independent contractors
- Weekly meetings with the programme faculty to ensure they are working towards the goals outlined in their KPIs and that all issues are addressed
- Ensure programme specific resources: people, equipment and budgets are properly managed
- Ensure that the prescribed programme timetable, class attendance and student service delivery (and engagement in distance mode) are maintained
- Ensure that the prescribed programme assignments and assessments are completed on time Participate in all of the R&Y School’s Academic Governance and Quality Assurance procedures
- Offer programme content support to students including creating bespoke student academic plans
- Resolve student and parent complaints regarding academic delivery
- Ensure constant feedback from students on programme-related issues are obtained and logged
- Ensure that all programme statutory requirements, documents (ie T&L’s, Programme guides etc), reports are adhered to and completed timeously to a top-quality standard, and filed in the correct format and place
- Actively work with the R&Y Marketing, Student Advisor teams and lecturers to promote the programme
- Contribute to and manage programme reviews and improvements in order to maintain and improve quality
- Oversee aptitude assessment of new admissions to programmes and participate in the assessment of credit transfers and RPL
- Create and promote a respectful, transparent, collegial, professional and academic culture within the programme team
- Manage the onboarding of all academic and student support staff on the programmes
- Participate in the recruitment of new staff on the programmes
- Head up an academic committee or sit on multiple committees - depending on workload.
- Actively assist in student orientation (Distance and contact modes)
- Assist in delivering accurate student records and transcripts
- Network actively with senior stakeholders in the business to ensure the BCOM program grows in revenue and student retention (ideally this means collaborating with administrators, research and curriculum design team, marketing and our fellow faculty/school)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum three years of rigorous and demonstrable experience in the advertising and/or marketing industry
- Minimum five years of teaching experience in a Higher Education environment Extremely computer literate: Google Workspace (Gmail, GDrive, GSheets, etc.), Zoom and/or Microsoft 360 package, R&Y Hub, Moodle
- Prerequisite knowledge of the programme to ensure that the programme is maintained throughout delivery
