Job summary

Recruitify_HR seeks a Civil Engineer (Structural) in Cape Town to lead design and manage water infrastructure projects. You must be an ECSA-registered Professional Engineer or Technologist with at least 2 years post-registration experience in design, planning and contracts, plus strong leadership and BIM skills.

Own vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required. You will coordinate design teams, ensure quality deliverables within time and budget, and liaise with clients and contractors

Applicants Must Have The Following Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering, and
• Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience, with proven involvement in engineering design, project planning, and contract administration throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Must have strong technical experience in water and structural infrastructure, particularly bulk water reservoirs, water treatment facilities, stormwater systems, water-retaining structures, and reinforced concrete structures.
• Must have experience leading and coordinating design teams, ensuring that technical deliverables such as calculations, drawings, schedules, and reports are produced to a high standard, within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Must have a sound knowledge of structural engineering principles, applicable design codes, regulations, and industry standards, with the ability to apply these effectively across projects.
• Must be proficient in MasterSeries or Prokon, as well as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Experience with BIM and digital design platforms, including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Revit, and AutoCAD, will be advantageous.
• Must demonstrate strong project ownership, accountability, commercial awareness, and client relationship management skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, contractors, and other project stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
• Must have own reliable vehicle and a valid Driver’s Licence.
