Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans) for the transportation of goods to various destinations within and beyond the Pietermaritzburg region.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all safety and maintenance requirements are met.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times, considering traffic and road conditions.
• Load and unload cargo securely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery details, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and other stakeholders regarding delivery status, potential delays, and any issues encountered.
• Assist in coordinating the movement of goods, managing schedules, and troubleshooting logistical challenges.

Requirements

• Valid Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) and a valid Code 10 or higher driver's license.

• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) as required.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
