Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Code 1 heavy-duty vehicle for the transportation of goods, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe and operational condition.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, delivery details, and any incidents.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and weight distribution to prevent damage and ensure safety.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery schedules.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
• Conduct basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to the maintenance department.
• Represent Our client professionally and courteously when interacting with clients and the public in Pietermaritzburg and beyond.

Requirements
