About the Role

Our client, a prominent and expanding manufacturer in the FMCG food sector, is actively seeking an experienced and diligent Production Supervisor for their facility in Bloemfontein . This on-site role is critical for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the production line, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets. You will be responsible for leading a team of production operators, overseeing daily operations, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of food manufacturing processes, and a commitment to operational excellence within a demanding production environment. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the production team to ensure efficient and timely output.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate production operators, providing guidance and support.
• Identify and resolve production issues and equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
• Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of production equipment.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports, including output, waste, and quality metrics.
• Enforce all health and safety regulations on the production floor.
• Collaborate with quality control and maintenance departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant diploma or certification in Food Science, Production Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a production or supervisory role within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in supervising and leading a team of production staff.
• Strong understanding of food production processes, quality control systems (e.g., HACCP), and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work on-site in Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA .
• Proficiency in basic computer skills for reporting.
