Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Production Operations Engineer to manage and optimize oil and gas production operations from their base in Vereeniging . This role involves ensuring the efficient, safe, and environmentally sound operation of production facilities, wells, and associated infrastructure. You will be responsible for monitoring production performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing strategies to enhance recovery and minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production engineering principles and a proven ability to manage field operations effectively within the Gauteng region's energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily production operations, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of wells and facilities.
Monitor key production parameters (e.g., rates, pressures, temperatures) and identify deviations.
Troubleshoot operational problems, diagnose equipment failures, and implement timely solutions.
Develop and execute workover and well intervention programs to maximize production.
Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute preventative maintenance activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering or operations.
