Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a Production Manager in South Africa to manage daily and weekly demand within the manufacturing environment, driving cost efficiency, quality and productivity on a shift basis. You will influence production performance, balance multiple variables to meet service levels, and ensure safe operations.

You will optimize line performance, manage staff, ensure training, and maintain quality and safety standards while reporting on weekly performance to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Production Management or equivalent.
• Knowledge of quality assurance standards and systems.
• Computer literate (Access and MS Office).
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Sound Employee relations knowledge.
• Successfully works with others in a management role: Quality, Facilities, Engineering, Raw Materials Stores and Distribution.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily and weekly demand requirements within the manufacturing environment on a shift basis to drive cost, quality and efficiency.
• Make decisions that influence production performance and productivity to meet sales service levels.
• Monitor line performance to optimize quality vs. cost.
• Utilize labour hours to maximize yields and minimize breakage and waste.
• Ensure adequate staffing to execute operational plans and that manning levels are at specification.
• Develop and train FLEs and direct reports.
• Enforce PepsiCo Code of Conduct and disciplinary guidelines.
• Produce and analyze daily production line reports in a timely manner.
• Evaluate and categorize downtime during shifts.
• Prepare weekly performance reports for site leadership.
