Job summary

Premier FMCG is seeking a seasoned Pasta Line Production Supervisor to lead a fast-paced manufacturing team in Johannesburg. You will optimise production, safety, and cost, maximise equipment reliability and drive improvements across OEE, maintenance, and quality.

The role requires 7+ years in production, a trade qualification or diploma, and supervisory experience in food manufacturing. Shift work, weekend and holiday coverage are expected, with strong GMP and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment or similar production industry.
• Knowledge of Pasta Line operations.
• Experience with automated machinery and maintenance practices.
• Proven leadership and supervision capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the Pasta Line team to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production.
• Coordinate daily production activities to achieve output, yield, and performance targets.
• Monitor equipment performance and maximize uptime through effective maintenance practices.
• Drive preventative maintenance programs and follow up on equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Ensure OEE targets are achieved and production performance is continuously improved.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Control operational costs, including labour, consumables, and maintenance expenses.
• Coach, train, and develop employees to build a high-performing team.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and asset care.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Quality, Health & Safety, and company standards.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to support business objectives and operational excellence

Job Purpose

Experience and Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• N6/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Government certificate of competency
• Trade Qualification, preferably Millwright.
• Minimum 7 years' industry experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience within a food manufacturing environment or similar production industry.
• Knowledge of Pasta Line
• Proven experience with automated machinery, including: PLC, HMIs, Drives Automated packing equipment

Skills and Competencies

• Electrical problem-solving experience.
• Must have production process experience.
• Knowledge of Shopware maintenance module would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of FSSC 22000 principles.
• MS Office.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays
