Job summary

The Recruitment Pig is seeking a procurement specialist to advance regional inventory and logistics coordination for industrial customers. You will lead purchase orders, track ocean freight, and ensure ERP records are accurate to support smooth operations.

With 3–5 years in procurement, you will collaborate with mills, suppliers, and freight partners, applying Incoterms and ERP skills to keep production lines stocked and customers satisfied.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience in industrial/engineering distribution.
• Familiar with sea freight imports, customs docs, and Incoterms.
• Experience with ERP systems and Excel.
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Place and confirm purchase orders with mills and suppliers.
• Track ocean freight shipments from origin to local warehouse.
• Coordinate customs clearance with agents and forwarders.
• Monitor warehouse stock to prevent shortages.
• Match PO against delivery notes, packing lists, and invoices.
• Expedite delayed shipments to keep schedules.
• Maintain purchasing records, vendor data, and stock in ERP.

Job Description

• Place and confirm purchase orders with approved international mills and domestic suppliers.
• Track ocean freight shipments closely from origin ports to the local Heriotdale warehouse.
• Work with clearing agents and freight forwarders to finalize routine customs and import documents.
• Monitor warehouse stock levels regularly to prevent material shortages on key production lines.
• Match purchase orders accurately against supplier delivery notes, packing lists, and invoices.
• Expedite delayed shipments proactively to keep processing schedules running smoothly on time.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor details, and stock data inside the ERP system.

What You Need to Apply

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (Matric).
• An Advantage. Tertiary Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Logistics.
• Three to five years of operational procurement experience in industrial, metals, or engineering distribution.
• Practical familiarity with sea freight imports, customs clearing documentation, and Incoterms.
• Hands-on experience working with an established enterprise ERP system and Microsoft Excel.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with local and overseas partners.
• A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong team-player values.
