Placements24 seeks a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to uphold top safety standards across its chemical plant operations in Pretoria. You will develop, implement, and manage process safety programs to mitigate hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in process safety within chemical/petrochemical environments, a chemical engineering degree, and strong skills in PSM, HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, and SIS with robust leadership and training abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in process safety engineering in chemicals/petrochemicals.
• Strong knowledge of PSM standards (OSHA 29 CFR) and hazard assessment methods.
• Experience with HAZOP, LOPA and FMEA risk assessment techniques.
• Knowledge of safety instrumented systems and emergency response planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Process Safety Management programs.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver process safety training to plant personnel.
• Manage safety-critical equipment and ensure reliability.
• Liaise with regulators to ensure compliance.
