Placements24 is seeking a qualified Process Safety Engineer specializing in chemical processes to join their Port Elizabeth team. This critical role ensures safety across handling, production, and storage, identifying and mitigating risks while complying with national and international regulations.

The role involves conducting PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA), developing the PSM program, investigating incidents, and training staff to uphold a culture of safety within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in process safety within the chemical industry.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical hazards and safety engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PHAs, including HAZOP and risk assessments for chemical processes.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies, LOPA, and risk assessments for chemical processes.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards.
