Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our technical team in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes for advanced chemical products, troubleshooting issues, and driving process improvements.

You will develop and maintain process documentation, perform capability studies, and collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure safe, high-quality production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 2–4 years of process engineering or chemical manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with specialty chemicals or advanced materials is a plus.
• Working knowledge of process safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for chemical manufacturing processes and troubleshoot issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Implement process changes and validate documentation.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs, mass and energy balances.
• Conduct process capability studies and statistical analyses.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality control to resolve challenges.
• Assist in training operators on new processes.
• Contribute to cost reduction through optimization.
