About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and technically adept Process Engineer to join their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Richards Bay . This role is central to optimizing and maintaining the efficiency, safety, and quality of our pharmaceutical production processes. You will be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, implementing process improvements, and ensuring that all operations adhere to stringent pharmaceutical industry standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The successful candidate will contribute significantly to operational excellence and the continuous improvement initiatives within a critical manufacturing hub for the pharmaceutical sector, driving innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, implement, and validate new processes or modifications to existing ones to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and process flow diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure all process operations comply with GMP, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to achieve manufacturing objectives.
• Lead or participate in process validation activities for new equipment and product introductions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer, preferably within the pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes , equipment, and GMP requirements.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to process optimization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
