About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to enhance manufacturing operations at their site in Mossel Bay . This role is essential for optimizing existing production processes, implementing new technologies, and ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, drive continuous improvement, and support scale-up activities. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background with specific experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, committed to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
• Lead and participate in process validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ, to ensure processes meet predefined specifications.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure equipment is suitable for use and properly maintained.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry best practices in pharmaceutical manufacturing and process engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the pharmaceutical or related regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and process validation principles.
• Experience with process equipment commonly used in pharmaceutical manufacturing (e.g., reactors, filters, dryers, tablet presses).
