Placements24 seeks a Process Engineer for a mining equipment client in Rustenburg, North West. You will optimize manufacturing processes, drive efficiency, and uphold safety and quality across heavy-duty production lines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and 5+ years in process engineering, with CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Lean/Six Sigma familiarity. On-site work is expected in Rustenburg.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in heavy manufacturing or mining equipment.
• Proven experience in process analysis, optimization and implementation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles including CNC machining, welding and assembly.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.
• On-site work in Rustenburg, North West.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Design and implement new production processes and workflows for mining equipment.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including flow charts, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot tests for new process technologies.
• Monitor KPIs and report on trends.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Lead or participate in Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel.
