Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Development Chemical Engineer to innovate and refine manufacturing processes in Richards Bay. This role bridges laboratory discoveries to robust industrial processes, collaborating with R&D scientists and production engineers to enable commercialization.

The ideal candidate has strong chemical reaction engineering, separation processes and pilot plant scale-up experience, with a focus on operational excellence and precise reporting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 4+ years in process development, scale-up, or chemical R&D.
• Ability to design and execute experimental plans.
• Experience with reaction engineering and separation technologies.
• Knowledge of process safety principles and risk assessment.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Scale-up chemical processes from laboratory bench to pilot plant and full commercial scale.
• Design and conduct experiments to optimize process parameters, yields, and product quality.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods for process monitoring and control.
• Prepare detailed process descriptions, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during process development and scale-up.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology transfer and implementation.
