Placements24 in Richards Bay seeks a Senior Chemical Engineer to join the Process Development team. You will lead design, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes for pilot-scale and commercial production, focusing on efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations, conduct simulations and hazard analyses, document processes, and contribute to patents.

Requires B.Eng. or M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering and at least 7 years' experience.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in process development or optimization in chemical/petrochemical industry.
Strong understanding of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
Experience with process safety management (PSM) and hazard assessment techniques.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pilot-scale and commercial production.
Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and hazard analyses for new and existing processes.
Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams for seamless scale-up and transfer.
Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure product quality.
Write technical reports, process documentation, and contribute to patent applications.
