Placements24 is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead its Bloemfontein operations. The role requires extensive experience in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement, with a strong focus on safety and technical excellence.

You will mentor a team of geotechnical professionals, manage high-profile projects from inception to completion, and engage clients.

Qualifikationen

• MSc or MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience managing large/complex geotechnical projects from inception to completion.

Aufgaben

• Lead planning, execution, and interpretation of complex geotechnical investigations for various projects.
• Provide technical direction on foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Oversee preparation of detailed geotechnical reports, recommendations, and specifications.
• Manage geotechnical project portfolios with budget adherence and quality control.
• Mentor junior and intermediate geotechnical engineers; develop technical growth.
• Act as technical advisor to clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for geotechnical challenges.
• Represent the company in client meetings and technical reviews.
• Stay updated with advancements in geotechnical theory, software, and site investigation technologies.
• Contribute to business development, including proposals and client engagement.
