You will mentor a team of geotechnical professionals, manage high-profile projects from inception to completion, and engage clients.

Qualifications

• MSc or MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience managing large/complex geotechnical projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and interpretation of complex geotechnical investigations for various projects.
• Provide technical direction on foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Oversee preparation of detailed geotechnical reports, recommendations, and specifications.
• Manage geotechnical project portfolios with budget adherence and quality control.
• Mentor junior and intermediate geotechnical engineers; develop technical growth.
• Act as technical advisor to clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for geotechnical challenges.

Requirements

MSc or MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field. Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA is essential. A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with significant leadership responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in managing large and complex geotechnical projects from inception to completion. Expertise in advanced geotechnical analysis and modelling software (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC, GEO5). In-depth knowledge of site investigation techniques, laboratory testing, and material characterisation. Strong understanding of relevant South African standards and international best practices. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams effectively. Strong business acumen and client engagement capabilities.
