Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer to guide operations in the Stellenbosch region. You will lead a team of geotechnical specialists, manage site investigations, and provide expert recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks.

Formación

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnics.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, FLAC).
• Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Experience in managing project teams and budgets.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including site assessments, soil borings, and in-situ testing.
• Perform complex geotechnical analyses such as foundation design, slope stability analysis, seismic hazard assessment, and settlement predictions.
• Develop detailed geotechnical reports, specifications, and design recommendations for project stakeholders.
• Oversee the work of junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Review and approve geotechnical designs and construction methods to ensure safety and performance.
