About the Role
Our client, a highly regarded exploration company, is seeking a Principal Exploration Geochemist to join their team, offering remote work flexibility with periodic travel to sites. This senior role is pivotal in driving the discovery of new mineral deposits through the application of advanced geochemical exploration techniques. You will be responsible for designing and implementing geochemical surveys, interpreting complex multi-element datasets, and integrating geochemical data with other geological information to identify high-priority exploration targets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the chemical principles governing element dispersion in various geological environments and a proven track record of success in mineral exploration geochemistry. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise and contribute to significant discoveries within a collaborative and scientifically driven organization, supporting projects globally from your remote base.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and supervise geochemical exploration programs, including soil, stream sediment, rock chip, and biogeochemical surveys.
- Manage and execute geochemical data acquisition, including sample collection protocols and laboratory selection.
- Perform advanced statistical analysis, multivariate analysis, and spatial data integration of geochemical datasets.
- Develop and refine geochemical models to understand element transport and dispersion in various geological settings.
- Interpret geochemical results in conjunction with geological, geophysical, and structural data to identify and prioritize exploration targets.
- Prepare comprehensive geochemical reports, target recommendations, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with exploration teams globally, providing expert geochemical input and guidance.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in exploration geochemistry, analytical techniques, and data management software.
- Mentor junior geochemists and contribute to the technical development of the exploration team.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance procedures are implemented throughout the geochemical workflow.
Requirements
