Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Principal Architect to lead design of ambitious residential developments in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will guide design teams, liaise with developers and planning authorities, and ensure projects reflect sustainability and community integration.

The role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record delivering large-scale housing, from single homes to estates, and the ability to shape residential living in the region.

Qualifications

• Professional Architect qualification (PrArch) and SACAP registration.
• 12+ years in architectural practice with emphasis on large-scale residential developments.
• Experience in leadership or principal architect role on complex projects.
• A strong portfolio of award-winning or impactful residential designs.
• Expertise in architectural software (Revit, AutoCAD) and project management methods.
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design development, and execution of major residential development projects.
• Mentor and manage a team of architects, designers, and technicians, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Engage with clients, developers, and local authorities to define briefs, secure approvals, and manage expectations.
• Champion innovative design solutions addressing housing needs, sustainability, and urban context in Kimberley.
• Oversee preparation of architectural documentation for tender and construction.
• Ensure projects meet quality standards and align with design philosophy and client aspirations.
