Job summary

Motus corporation seeks a skilled automotive technician to assess, diagnose, and repair vehicle faults and perform maintenance according to OEM standards. You will deliver high-quality technical expertise to satisfy customers and uphold service delivery values, working efficiently within the workshop.

The role requires hands-on diagnostics, communication with service advisors and customers, and adherence to OEM requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Test drive vehicles to assess the work done and for diagnosis of issues customers bring vehicles in for.
  • Move frequently between the Workshop, Service Advisors and Parts department to generate quotes for repairs.
  • Discuss repair orders with service advisors and customers and provide coherent explanations.
  • Provide accurate diagnosis for estimates (cost, time, effort) for repairs to be correct.
  • Carry out maintenance, repair and diagnostic work as instructed, often in standing positions or bent positions.
  • Replace oil or lubricate equipment; inspect, replace and/or repair damaged parts; may remove and refit a gearbox or engine or brakes.
  • Use diagnostic equipment correctly for vehicle diagnosis and repair.
  • Work in line with OEM and warranty requirements to ensure valid service outcomes.
  • Ensure diagnoses lead to cost-effective, accurate remedies and maintain time targets for manufacturer guidelines.
  • Return vehicles to customers in neat, clean, and safe condition.
  • Produce legible paperwork reflecting work performed and advise teammates on technical matters.
  • Maintain effective communication across departments and with customers and service providers.
  • Keep a clean, safe working environment and complete OEM training as required.
