Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter for our client in Mahikeng to assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems in a busy production setting. You will read and interpret drawings, use a range of hand and power tools, and work with lathes, milling machines, and drill presses to keep equipment safe and performing at peak efficiency.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter with relevant trade qualifications and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and manuals.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and workshop machinery.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and power transmission.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install and maintain mechanical equipment per specs and drawings.
• Perform routine maintenance on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes and hydraulics.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures, wear and misalignment.
• Operate lathes, milling machines and drill presses for fabrication/repair.
• Ensure installations meet safety standards and keep records of work.
