Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter for our client in Mahikeng to assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems in a busy production setting. You will read and interpret drawings, use a range of hand and power tools, and work with lathes, milling machines, and drill presses to keep equipment safe and performing at peak efficiency.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter with relevant trade qualifications and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and manuals.

• Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and power transmission.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install and maintain mechanical equipment per specs and drawings.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Fitter to join their industrial operations team in Mahikeng . This role is vital for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery within a manufacturing or production environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical equipment operates efficiently and safely, adhering to strict technical specifications and production schedules. Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications.


• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures, including wear and tear, broken components, and alignment issues.


• Operate workshop machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses for fabrication and repair purposes.


• Ensure all mechanical installations and repairs meet safety standards and operational requirements.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance.
