Job summary

Square 1 Recruitment is seeking two skilled CNC Turning Setters for an Alrode-based engineering firm. You will set up and operate CNC turning machines, read drawings, load tools, set offsets and produce accurate parts to tight tolerances on Doosan Puma and Haas lathes.

You will also read CNC programs, perform basic edits, and ensure production runs meet quality standards. Experience with Fanuc controls is advantageous. Competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC turning machines (lathes).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Hands-on experience with tool changes and offsets
• Track record of producing quality work to drawing specifications and tight tolerances
• Ability to read CNC programs
• Basic program editing is advantageous
• Experience with Fanuc controls is advantageous
• Experience on Doosan Puma and Haas lathes is preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning machines (lathes) for production runs
• Read and interpret technical drawings to set up each job correctly
• Carry out tool changes and set and adjust tool offsets
• Produce quality parts to drawing specifications and hold tight tolerances
• Read CNC programs to understand and check the machining sequence, and make basic edits where needed
