Job summary

ESG Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Setter / Operator / Programmer Turning for a permanent role in a medium-sized engineering environment in Johannesburg.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of CNC turning, programming and setting experience, with proven jobbing capability and the ability to read drawings and set up offsets. You will work on Okuma controls, use precision measuring equipment, and maintain quality and safety standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Turner artisan trade certificate mandatory.
• CNC programming certification required.
• Minimum 4 years CNC programming and setting experience.
• Proven CNC turning experience in a mid-size engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and adjust offsets on CNC machines to perform machining operations.
• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines using Okuma controls.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Use precision measuring equipment to check components.
• Maintain productivity, achieve targets and minimise downtime.
• Ensure low or zero scrap and good housekeeping.
