Our client, a medium-sized engineering company, is looking for an experienced CNC Machine Setter / Operator / Programmer Turning to join their team.
The successful candidate must have strong CNC turning, programming and setting experience, with proven jobbing experience and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a production environment.
Set up, program and adjust offsets on CNC machines to perform various machining operations. Program, set and operate CNC turning machines using Okuma controls . Read and correctly interpret engineering drawings. Use relevant precision measuring equipment to accurately check and measure components. Use machine tools, jigs and fixtures when required. Ensure that all first-off machined components are inspected for conformance to specifications. Meet production targets as specified on job cards and achieve more than 85% efficiency . Maintain excellent productivity and minimise production downtime. Maintain a very low or zero scrap and rework rate. Report all non-conforming components to the Foreman or Inspector immediately. Adhere to company work standards, policies and procedures relating to quality, environmental requirements, health and safety . Ensure all required PPE is worn and maintain a neat and tidy uniform at all times. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and ensure the work area is clean, neat and safe. Maintain a good attendance and timekeeping record. Perform any reasonable duties or tasks as requested by management from time to time.
