Placements24 is seeking a PR and Communications Coordinator in East London, Eastern Cape, ZA. The role is office-based and focuses on developing and executing communication strategies, managing media relations, drafting materials, and monitoring coverage.

You will work with the PR Manager and other departments to ensure consistent brand messaging, with strong writing, organizational skills, and a detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related field (internships valued).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, editing and proofreading abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of public relations campaigns.
• Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports for the team.
• Respond to media inquiries and facilitate interview requests under supervision.
• Support the maintenance of media contact databases.
• Assist in organizing press conferences, media events, and other promotional activities.
• Update and maintain the company's press room and website content related to PR.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and support communication efforts.
• Assist with social media content creation and posting as needed.
• Contribute to the development of internal communications materials.
