Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape, is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to elevate our client's brand through strategic PR, compelling storytelling, and media relations. You will work with the PR Manager to plan campaigns, craft press materials, and coordinate outreach.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in PR/Communications/Journ, 1–3 years' experience, strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Must be based in or able to commute to East London, Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of public relations campaigns.
• Write and edit press releases, media advisories, and other PR materials.
• Support media outreach efforts and respond to media inquiries.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports on key mentions and sentiment.
• Build and maintain relationships with local journalists and influencers.
• Help organize and coordinate PR events and press conferences.
• Manage company social media profiles and engage with online communities.
• Conduct research on industry trends and competitor PR activities.
• Provide administrative support to the PR department.
