Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Power Plant Operator to join the Mahikeng facility's operations team. You will monitor and control daily plant operations, respond to alarms, and perform routine checks to ensure safe, efficient electricity production.

The role requires technical qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering or a relevant certificate, with 3+ years of industry experience and willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a relevant operational certificate.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Power Plant Operator or in a similar role.
• Experience monitoring and controlling complex industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of power generation processes and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment via DCS or similar interfaces.
• Perform routine checks, readings, and data logging.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control power plant equipment and systems using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or similar interfaces.
• Perform routine operational checks, readings, and data logging to ensure equipment is functioning within normal parameters.
• Respond promptly and effectively to abnormal conditions, alarms, and emergencies.
• Operate auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and generators, as required.
• Follow strict operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure the safety of personnel and the plant.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks and report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies.

Requirements
