Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a key power generation facility in Polokwane. This role ensures safe, reliable energy production, manages maintenance, and drives continuous improvement within Limpopo's energy sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background, 10+ years in power generation operations, and deep knowledge of plant technologies and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in operations management within the power generation industry.
• Experience leading diverse teams and complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of power plant technologies, maintenance strategies, and operational procedures.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth understanding of safety protocols and environmental compliance in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the performance of the power generation plant to ensure maximum efficiency and output.
• Oversee the planning and execution of all maintenance activities, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage operational budgets, controlling costs while maintaining high standards of performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operations and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to track operational effectiveness.
