Job summary

P&L is seeking a reliable Cashier in South Africa to handle all POS transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction and secure cash handling. The role requires accuracy with cash and payments, strong administration skills, and the ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

You will process payments, balance tills, manage change, and assist customers efficiently while adhering to safety and dress code standards as part of the CB Way.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year work related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Must have strong administration skills.
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cash handling accuracy and balance cash floats.
• Identify and capture goods on the POS terminal correctly.
• Capture payments received from customers on the POS terminal.
• Maintain sufficient change at all times.
• Balance cash-ups at the end of shifts and drop takings as required.
• Process transactions related to other stores' money, deliveries, and quotes correctly.
• Provide fast, friendly service and direct customers to the appropriate person.
