Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is seeking a reliable Cashier for in-store operations in Potchefstroom. You will handle POS transactions accurately and ensure goods are paid for before leaving the till, delivering quick, friendly service to customers.

The role requires Grade 12, basic math, strong administration, and English communication. You must be prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, maintain accuracy, and follow safety and cash-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year work related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language in the area.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Strong administration skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.
• Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash (floats, petty cash) and prevent shorts/overs.
• Capture goods correctly on the POS terminal.
• Record the payment type received from customers on POS.
• Maintain sufficient change at all times.
• Handle pick-ups within set parameters.
• Perform end-of-shift cash-ups accurately.
• Drop takings into the drop safe/vault daily.
• Process transactions relating to other stores money, deliveries, and quotes.
