Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is seeking a Cashier to accurately handle POS transactions and documentation, ensuring customers are served and goods are paid for.

The role requires Grade 12, English and local language proficiency, strong maths, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays while maintaining accuracy and integrity in cash handling.

Adhere to safety and security procedures, dress code, and customer service standards to support a smooth checkout process.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year work related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Must have strong administration skills.
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Balance cash (including floats, and petty cash) as signed for.
• Ensure goods are correctly identified and captured on the POS terminal.
• Capture the correct payment type received from customers on the POS terminal.
• Maintain sufficient change at all times.
• Ensure pickups are done accurately and within parameters.
• Complete cash-ups at end of shift.
• Drop daily takings into the drop safe/vault.
• Process transactions for other stores’ money, deliveries, and quotes correctly.
• Sign, file and maintain relevant cashier documentation.
• Adhere to Ready for Business and CB Way.
