Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is seeking a cashier to accurately handle POS transactions and related documentation, ensuring customers are satisfied and all goods are paid for at the till. Responsibilities include balancing cash, operating the POS terminal, ensuring correct change, handling drop safes, and assisting customers throughout

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or minimum of 1 (one) year work related experience
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately
• Must have strong administration skills
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays
• Must be able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Balance cash, floats, and petty cash, and ensure no shortages or overs
• Identify and capture goods on the Point of Sale Terminal
• Capture the correct payment type received from customers on the POS terminal
• Maintain sufficient change at all times
• Ensure daily takings are dropped into the Drop Safe / vault
• Process transactions related to other stores money, deliveries, and quotes correctly
• Sign, compile, and file cashier-related documentation
• Offer fast, friendly, and efficient service to customers at checkout
• Direct customers to the appropriate staff when needed
• Ensure compliance with dress code and safety policies
