Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Youth Development Program Officer in Polokwane, Limpopo. You will design, implement, and manage programs aimed at fostering personal, educational, and professional growth for local youth, working with schools, communities, and local government.

The role requires hands-on project management, strong communication, and the ability to engage youth from diverse backgrounds. You will mentor participants, monitor outcomes, and help shape strategies that empower the next

Qualifications

• Proven experience in youth work, program management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of youth development theories and practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in designing and facilitating workshops and activities for youth.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage youth development programs in Polokwane.
• Design engaging activities and workshops focusing on life skills, career readiness, and personal development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with youth, community organizations, schools, and local government.
• Recruit and mentor youth participants, providing guidance and support throughout their program journey.
• Monitor program progress, collect data, and report on outcomes and impact to stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate youth events, camps, and field trips.
• Manage program budgets and resources effectively.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure program integration and synergy.
• Identify needs and challenges faced by youth in the Limpopo province and adapt programs accordingly.
• Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in youth development.
