Job summary

SKG Properties in Cape Town is seeking a Plumber to perform day-to-day maintenance across our commercial and industrial buildings. You will report to the Manager and support water supply, drainage, sanitary and hot-water systems, with emphasis on safety and responsive service to tenants.

Requires Matric and an N1–N3 Plumbing Qualification, plus a minimum of 2 years’ plumbing experience, including leak detection, drain maintenance and basic pipe-joining.

Qualifications

• Matric and N1–N3 plumbing qualification are required.
• Minimum 2 years' plumbing experience with strong technical knowledge.
• Experience with leak detection, drainage maintenance and pipe-joining.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day plumbing maintenance as assigned by the Manager.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault-finding.
• Assist with water supply systems, sanitary and hot-water setups.
• Coordinate with tenants, contractors and reporting of stock.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Plumber is responsible for carrying out day to day maintenance related plumbing works as assigned by the Manager.

• Sanitary and Drainage Systems
• Hot-Water Systems lots (oil stains and building material to be removed).

• Tenant Installations and Minor Projects
• Compliance and Safe Working Practices
• Reporting, Stock and Contractor Coordination
• Water-saving initiatives
• Plumbing asset registers

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric
• N1 - N3 Plumbing Qualification
• Min of 2 years as a plumber with good Technical knowledge
• Leak detection and repairs
• Drainage maintenance
• Soldering, threading, solvent welding, compression fittings and other pipe-joining
• Experience with booster pumps, circulation pumps, float valves and water-storage system
