Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Play Leader & Child Development Specialist to design and lead play-based programs that stimulate curiosity, creativity, and social skills. You will work closely with families to support your child's development journey in a nurturing, educational environment.

The ideal candidate has a qualification in Childcare or ECD, experience with young children, and strong interpersonal and observational skills.

Qualificações

• A relevant qualification in Childcare, Early Childhood Development, or a related field (Diploma or Certificate).
• Experience with young children in play-based learning or early years setting.
• Understanding of child development theories and practical application.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
• Creativity to develop engaging activities.
• Observation and documentation of child progress.
• Ability to manage a group and ensure safety.
• First Aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Background check required.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement diverse, age-appropriate play-based learning experiences and activities.
• Facilitate group and individual play sessions, encouraging social interaction and problem-solving skills.
• Observe children's behavior and developmental progress, documenting observations and communicating findings to supervisors and parents.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all children under care.
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support consistent developmental strategies between home and the center.
• Assist in planning and preparation of learning materials and resources.
• Manage classroom routines and ensure a positive, supportive atmosphere.
• Promote healthy habits, including hygiene, nutrition, and physical activity.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
