Placements24 in Mpumalanga invites a Mechanical Engineer to join a major energy generation facility in Nelspruit. You will plan and execute maintenance strategies for turbines, pumps, boilers and related systems, aiming to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

The role requires a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years in industrial plant maintenance, CMMS exposure (SAP PM), and strong diagnostic and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial plants.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with CMMS (SAP PM) for maintenance planning.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance for mechanical equipment.
• Inspect rotating and static mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement repairs.
• Interpret drawings, P&IDs, and manuals to guide activities.
• Develop maintenance procedures to improve reliability and safety.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement.
• Oversee technicians and external contractors.
• Ensure plant safety and environmental regulations.
• Participate in root cause analyses for equipment failures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
