Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch seeks a Pipeline Engineer to oversee the integrity and maintenance of a large pipeline network in the region. You will develop and implement inspection, maintenance, and repair programs to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical energy infrastructure.

The role covers corrosion control, monitoring, cathodic protection, and oversight of repairs, replacements and new construction projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
5+ years of pipeline engineering experience focused on integrity and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, coatings, and cathodic protection.
Familiarity with NDT methods for pipeline inspection.
Experience with API and ASME regulatory standards.
Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute pipeline integrity management plans.
Oversee inspections, integrity assessments, and risk analyses.
Manage corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection programs.
Plan and supervise repairs, replacements, and new construction projects.
Ensure compliance with national and international pipeline regulations and standards.
Investigate failures or incidents and recommend preventive measures.
