Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum 5 years of pipeline engineering experience focused on integrity/maintenance.
• Strong understanding of materials, corrosion mechanisms and failure modes.
• Experience with inspection techniques (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic flux leakage) and data analysis.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.4 and API 1160.
• Willingness to work in East London and travel to field sites.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Pipeline Engineer to manage the integrity and maintenance of their pipeline network, based in East London. This role is vital for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of oil and gas products. You will be responsible for developing and executing inspection and maintenance plans, assessing pipeline condition, and implementing repair strategies to mitigate risks. Working within the Eastern Cape's infrastructure sector, you will contribute to the longevity and operational success of critical energy transportation assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive pipeline integrity management programs, including inspection, monitoring, and assessment.
• Plan and oversee routine and in-line inspection (ILI) activities for the pipeline network.
• Analyze ILI data, corrosion monitoring results, and other integrity data to assess pipeline condition.
• Develop repair strategies, including welding, sleeving, and rerouting, and manage associated repair crews.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable pipeline safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with operations and construction teams to support pipeline maintenance and upgrades.
