Placements24 seeks a dedicated Hospital Pharmacist for our Mossel Bay site in the Western Cape. You will dispense medications, ensure safe use, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to optimize patient outcomes.

You will monitor therapies, participate in rounds, maintain records, and ensure regulatory compliance while contributing to a patient-centered hospital environment and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and registration to practice.
• SAPC in good standing as a Hospital Pharmacist.
• Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Strong pharmacology, therapeutics and regulatory knowledge.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately and verify prescriptions.
• Provide medication information and counseling to patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, verifying prescriptions and ensuring correct dosages and forms.
• Provide medication information and counseling to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient drug therapies for interactions, contraindications, and adverse effects.
• Participate in rounds with medical teams to provide drug therapy recommendations and ensure optimal patient treatment plans.
• Maintain pharmacy records and ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications appropriately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Hospital Pharmacist .
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmacy laws and regulations .
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting and manage multiple priorities.
