About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Pharmacist to join their established pharmacy in Benoni . As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare professionals, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines. This role is integral to patient care, requiring a compassionate approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding professional standards within a community pharmacy setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, verifying dosages and identifying potential drug interactions.


• Provide patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and storage.


• Compound medications as needed and ensure proper inventory management of pharmaceuticals.


• Advise patients on over-the-counter (OTC) medications, health products, and wellness services.


• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient therapy outcomes.


• Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with all legal and ethical pharmacy standards.

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).


• Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent qualification.


• Proven experience working as a practicing pharmacist.


• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, pharmacology, and dispensing practices.


• Excellent patient counseling skills and a commitment to patient safety.


• Proficiency in pharmacy management software and systems.
