Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst for our Sandton laboratory. You will perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, operate instruments, and document results to ensure safety and efficacy.

The role requires a Bachelor in Chemistry or related field, at least 2 years in QA/QC, hands-on with HPLC/GC, and strong GMP/GLP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacy or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years in a Quality Control lab, preferably pharma.
• Hands-on with analytical techniques and instrumentation (HPLC, GC).
• Solid understanding of GMP and GLP principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis) and dissolution apparatus.
• Prepare reagents, solutions and standards for testing.
• Accurately record and report test results with data integrity.
• Troubleshoot methods and instrumentation; assist in method validation and transfer.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established test methods and specifications.
• Operate and maintain a range of analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, and dissolution apparatus.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards required for testing.
• Accurately record and report test results, ensuring data integrity and compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
• Troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation, identifying and resolving issues.
• Participate in method validation and transfer activities as required.

Requirements
