Placements24 is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our Richards Bay operations in KwaZulu-Natal. You will supervise a team of production operators, manage schedules, and ensure all products are manufactured under GMP, safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires a relevant technical degree with at least 4 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing and 2 years in supervision. A hands-on leader with strong problem-solving and communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing with 2+ years in supervision, preferably in Richards Bay.
• Thorough understanding of GMP principles and production processes.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to lead their operations in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is essential for overseeing the daily production activities, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for supervising a team of production operators, managing production schedules, and ensuring that all products are manufactured in compliance with stringent regulatory requirements, including GMP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing and possess excellent leadership and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.

• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.
• Thorough understanding of GMP principles and pharmaceutical production processes.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage production schedules effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) or similar production software is an advantage.
• Must possess the legal right to work in South Africa.
