Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor for our client’s facility in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on leading a production team, ensuring cGMP compliance and safe operations on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with supervisory experience, and a strong background in GMP, quality management and MES/ERP usage. On-site role with shift work in Klerksdorp.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing with 2+ years in supervision.

About the Role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor to oversee operations at their facility in Klerksdorp, North West . This critical role involves managing day-to-day production activities, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards, and leading a team of production operators. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, and a commitment to operational excellence. This is a hands-on position requiring presence on the production floor in Klerksdorp , driving efficiency and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel involved in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.
• Ensure all production activities are performed in compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and safety regulations.
• Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and yield.
• Manage staff scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and development.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of production equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch manufacturing records (BMRs), and production logs.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment in the Klerksdorp plant.
• Collaborate with quality assurance, quality control, engineering, and supply chain departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and waste reduction.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely solutions.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes and cGMP regulations.
• Proven experience in managing production teams and driving performance.
• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and ERP systems is advantageous.
• Must be willing to work shifts and be physically present at the Klerksdorp, North West facility.
