Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Quality Control Chemist in Upington, Northern Cape to conduct analytical testing of pharmaceutical materials and products. You will ensure products meet quality, safety, and efficacy through laboratory analysis.

This role requires a bachelor's in chemistry, 1–2 years' pharma QA experience, and proficiency with HPLC, GC, and UV-Vis. You will work in GLP/GMP-compliant labs, contribute to ongoing quality assurance, and maintain meticulous documentation while upholding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Quality Control Chemist or Analyst in a pharmaceutical setting.
• Proficiency in using analytical instruments like HPLC, GC, and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
• Understanding of GMP guidelines and pharmacopeial standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Upington laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products using HPLC, GC, and spectroscopy.
• Prepare samples for analysis and ensure proper functioning and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Accurately record and document all testing results in accordance with GLP and GMP.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods as required.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and assist in determining root causes.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety protocols.
