Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst for an on-site role in Paarl, Western Cape. The candidate will perform analytical tests on materials and finished products, using HPLC/GC, UV-Vis, and dissolution equipment, with strict data recording and compliance to GMP/GLP.

The role requires a science degree and 2–3 years in a QC lab, strong attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a team within a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Pharmacy or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a pharmaceutical QC laboratory setting.
• Hands-on with HPLC and GC and familiarity with pharmacopoeial methods (USP/BP/EP).
• Proficient in data recording, analysis, and GMP/GLP compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products per SOPs.
• Operate and maintain HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, dissolution testers, and titrators.
• Prepare reagents and solutions for analyses and record results accurately.
• Review data and deviations, participate in investigations for out-of-spec results.
• Assist in method development and validation; ensure GLP and GMP adherence.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab and participate in audits as needed.
