This position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams to identify and de-risk potential hydrocarbon plays. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret geological data, including seismic, well logs, and core samples, to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Conduct geological mapping and basin analysis to understand regional petroleum systems.

• Contribute to the development of field development plans, including well planning and placement strategies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Petroleum Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum geology, with a strong focus on exploration and/or development in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in geological software for mapping, well log analysis, and subsurface modeling (e.g., Petrel, ArcGIS, Landmark).
• Solid understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and petroleum systems.
• Experience in integrating multidisciplinary subsurface data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for team collaboration.
• Willingness to work on-site in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, ZA and potentially travel to other operational locations.
• Experience with South African geological basins is an advantage.
